A Batavia man, who bolted from police during a court appearance in Attica , has been recaptured in Tennessee.
26 year old Dylan Perry formerly of Kingsbury Ave Batavia was for burglarizing a Town of Darien business last December.
Perry is now in the Genesee County without bail.
A neighbor accused of negligent homicide in the carbon monoxide deaths of a mother and son in Kendall.
39 year old David Wiley turned himself in. He is accused of causing the deaths of Joan Gilman and her 14 year old son RJ.
Deputies say Wiley lived in a duplex next to the Gilman’s and was the caretaker of the place. Authorities said Wiley ran a generator inside a garage for 17 hours when power to the Gilman’s apartment was shut off.
Wiley is facing two counts of criminally negligent homicide.
Democratic hopeful for New York governor Cynthia Nixon is releasing her tax returns. Nixon and her wife pulled in nearly two-million-dollars last year through their incomes, investments and sale of a house. They also gave about 53-thousand-dollars to charity. Meantime, Governor Cuomo said he and other candidates for the office have made it a tradition to disclose their taxes every April.
Governor Cuomo says he hasn’t made up his mind about a special election to replace Congresswoman Louise Slaughter. The longtime Western New York representative died in March but so far, despite a lawsuit, the governor hasn’t called for a special election. Yesterday Cuomo told reporters in Rochester that they’re working to coordinate federal and state elections right now but he’ll have an answer in the coming weeks.
A Batavia couple has won a million dollars after playing a New York Lottery scratch-off ticket.
27 year old Marquele Tomlin and his girlfriend Amber Blackshear decided to split a lump sum payment of $800,000.
That will result in a cash payment, after withholding taxes, of $269,000 each. The couple said they had dated for eight years but broke up for a while.
The day they got back together was the day they won the million bucks.
