The Greece Police department has released the names of the people involved in the shooting on Mosely Road Wednesday night. 51 year old Muharem Serhatlic apparently shot his wife, 46 year old Raza Knaji before turning the gun on himself. Raza survived and was taken to Strong Memorial. Serhatlic died at the scene.
Medina Police working collaboratively with the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force during an investigation and then the execution of search warrants, resulted in four arrests and felony charges against 20-year-old Nasir Shine, 19-year-old Emmanuel Taylor and 37-year-old Darrell Shine, each of Medina and 36-year-old Ebony Shine of Rochester. Investigators recovered firearms including an assault rifle and tactical shotgun, ammunition, a half-pound of cocaine, a pound of fentanyl, drug packaging materials, and $29,000 cash ($20,000 of which was for one sale of over ¼ kilogram of fentanyl). In addition, charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute controlled substances, could result in a maximum penalty of life in prison, for each of the four except for Darrell Shine.
Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino announced its annual holiday tree lighting will take place November 30. The event will include refreshments and special appearances by Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly and Santa Claus. In addition, Cami Clune and Joshua Vacanti will perform throughout the celebration.
Online Black Friday sales are expected to break records. According to Adobe, sales are projected to top nine-billion dollars, which would be a new record. The numbers come on the heels of a big day of Thanksgiving shopping online, with the numbers up three-percent year-over-year. Small Business Saturday is expected to be more popular than Black Friday and local retailers are gearing up with sales and inflation busters.
The Buffalo Sabres lost to the New Jersey Devils Friday night 3 to 1 on their home ice. This is the Devils 9th straight win on the road and the Sabres 1st loss in 3 games. Victor Oloffson made 1 goal and Craig Anderson made 41 saves vs the Devils goalie Akira Schmid making 33 saves. Next the Sabres are home at Keybank Center to face the Tampa Bay Lightning Monday at 7pm.
