Suspect in Ellicott Street assault faces attempted murder charge.
Batavia Police have arrested 40 year old Rashawn Gosier of Shady Lane Batavia for first degree Assault and Attempted Murder.
He was apprehended Monday night after report of a stabbing in the Swan and Ellicott Street area.
The immediate investigation was hindered because the stabbing victim had left the scene before being identified, however police managed to located the victim for an interview after they were treated and released from an area hospital.
Police say the victim was stabbed by a stabbing instrument and the weapon in question has not been recovered.
Apparently Gosier and the victim knew each other through a mutual acquaintance.
Gosier was arraigned in City Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail.
City Police are still actively investigating the assault and are not releasing the victim’s information.
Police bust a repeated offended of a court order in Batavia.
City Police were contacted by the alleged victim of a domestic incident at a Jackson Street address Thursday.
It was determined through investigation that 18 year old Iszon Richardson of Lewis Place had violated a complete stay away order of protection.
He was accused of holding the protected party at their residence and refused to allow them to leave.
A short time later, Police received information that Richardson had returned to the protected party’s residence.
Officers responded to the address and located Richardson hiding.
He was taken into custody on four counts of Criminal Contempt, three counts Burglary and one count of Unlawful Imprisonment.
Richardson was remanded to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $30,000.
Pavilion man arrested for Stalking in Elba.
27 year old Steven Barnhardt was arrested Friday afternoon for an incident in November at a Barrville Road address in Elba.
He was accused of sending repeated and unwanted calls, texts and facebook messages to a female he had met just a week prior and was charged with Aggravated Harassment and Stalking.
Barnhardt was issued an order of protection and released under supervision of Genesee Justice.
Deputies bust Pembroke man for drugged driving.
36 year old Gary Doctor was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Unregistered Motor Vehicle along with other vehicle and traffic infractions following a car crash last month.
Doctor was allegedly impaired when he crashed on Knapp Road in Pembroke early last month.
He was released with an appearance ticket for Pembroke Town Court on January 22nd.
Garage fire in Pavilion a total loss.
Report of a fully working garage fire was reported right around 11 o’clock Friday morning at a Pavilion Center Road address just south of Junction Road.
The two-story garage quickly went to a second alarm drawing multiple fire crews from the area.
The homeowner, Wayne Palmer, used the garage to restore old cars and a couple of cars were pulled out of the garage at some point.
No firefighters were injured fighting the blaze.
Pavilion Fire Chief Dewey Murdock said the cause of the fire is under investigation but it may have started with a fuel oil burner.
