Workers Sent Home from P W Minor

Renewed uncertainty over the future of Batavia’s P W Minor.
Workers at P W Minor tell WBTA there was a meeting of all employees this morning.
In that meeting, employees were reportedly told they would all receive their pay for this week but were then sent home. They were also reportedly told they may be layoffs.
This is just the latest chapter in a long tale of financial troubles fo the century and a half old shoe maker.
Four years ago, P W Minor was sold to local businessmen Peter Zeliff and Andrew Young in what was highly touted as a local effort to save the company from shutting its doors.
Later, Zeliff and Young would part company and last year Zeliff sold the company to a private investment firm, Tidewater and Associates of Delaware.
