Two Albion men behind bars for a home invasion in Orleans County.
The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of two Albion men following a home invasion and robbery in the Town of Yates.
Police say that early Tuesday morning a masked man allegedly entered a home on Lake Shore Road in Yates brandishing what appeared to be an AK-47 Rifle. The suspect, 22 year old Dominic DeCarlo of Albion allegedly demanded money, a cell phone and drugs from the victim.
Investigation revealed Decarlo was conspiring with 20 year old Spencer Freeman also of Albion as retaliation over a recent incident.
Officers later seized a quantity drugs, both real and counterfeit cash and firearms from Freemans residence.
Investigators subsequently recovered the stolen property along with the firearm in question which turned out to be an “Air-Soft” AK-47 replica that was modified to appear authentic.
DeCarlo was charged with Robbery, Grand larceny and Burglary and remanded to the custody of the Sheriff on $50,000 Bail.
Freeman was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Conspiracy, Tampering with Physical Evidence, along with drug charges and jailed in lieu of $25,000 Bail.
The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are likely.

 

A Rochester man has been indicted for a violent carjacking in Batavia involving a 76 year old woman who had just stopped for gas.
35 year old Constantine Murrell is facing felony charges of robbery and assault for the September 25th carjacking at the Kwik Fill gas station on Ellicott Street.
Authorities say Murrell took off in the stolen car and led police on a chase that ended when he crashed into a tree near VA campus.
No one was injured in the incident. Murrell was on parole at the time.

A Batavia couple arrested on a charge of child endangerment.
Batavia Police say the couple encouraged their young daughter to beat up another child.
The parents are identified as 37 year old Michael Jackson and 33 year old Robin Williams.

A Montclair Avenue woman facing drug and child endangerment charges.
Batavia Police say 43 year old Heidi Harder forced a child under 17 to smoke pot.

A Perry teen is facing a disturbing charge. Police say 18-year-old Gavin Harkins set an acquaintance’s dog on fire with a lighter. The animal’s fur ended up getting burned. Harkins is due back in court next month.
