High speed chase through Batavia ends in crash at VA entrance

A reported carjacking at the Kwik Fill on Jackson Street this morning led to a wild car chase through city streets ending in a single car crash outside the entrance of the VA Medical Center.
According to an eyewitness on the scene, the black male suspect allegedly shoved a female victim out of her white Buick Sebring before speeding off down Ellicott Street.

The man reportedly threatened the use of a gun in the theft however no weapon was ever displayed and has not been recovered by police.
No injuries were reported by the victim.
The suspect apparently walked away from the crash without any serious injuries and was immediately taken into custody.
Chief Heubusch said the crash damaged a tree and knocked one of the VA Center signs off its base.
