One Dead in Pavilion Crash
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that happened Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of South Street Road and Route 20 in the Town of Pavilion.
Deputies were called just before 2 p.m. and found a white 2012 Chrysler, driven by 67-year-old Larry Singer of Leicester, and an orange 2023 Peterbilt propane truck, driven by 59-year-old Howard Kreutter of Attica.
Investigators say Singer was heading south on South Street Road when he failed to yield the right of way to Kreutter, who was traveling west on Route 20. Singer’s car was struck, then hit a utility pole before stopping off the north shoulder of the road. Kreutter’s truck went off the south shoulder and overturned.
Singer was pronounced dead at the scene by the Genesee County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Crash Management Team, with assistance from state and local police, multiple fire departments, and Mercy EMS.
Erie Canal Trivia Night at Holland Land Office Museum

Early Voting Schedule and Deadlines Announced for General Election
The Genesee County Board of Elections has released the early voting schedule and key deadlines ahead of the November 4th General Election.
Early voting runs from October 25th through November 2nd at the ARC Community Center on Woodrow Road in Batavia. Polls will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. most days, with extended hours from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28th and Wednesday, October 29th.
All poll sites are accessible. Voters can confirm their polling location by visiting the New York State voter lookup tool or calling (585) 815-7804.
For absentee ballots, the deadline to apply by mail is October 25th, and in person by November 3rd. Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, November 4th, and received by November 12th.
Voter registration applications are due by October 25th, and address changes must be submitted by October 20th.

Wednesday Night Genesee County Soccer Scores
It was an entertaining night on the pitch across Genesee County on Wednesday.
In girls soccer, Le Roy came out on top in a tight matchup, edging Warsaw by a final score of 1–0. The Knights put together a strong defensive effort to preserve the shutout and secure the win.
Meanwhile in boys soccer, Holley continued its solid season with a convincing 3–0 victory over Attica/Alexander. Holley’s attack applied steady pressure throughout the match, while their defense kept Attica/Alexander off the scoreboard.
Wednesday Night Genesee County Volleyball Scores
Plenty of action took place on the volleyball courts Wednesday evening across Genesee County.
Alexander swept Attica in straight sets, taking the match 3–0.
Notre Dame also earned a dominant win on their home floor, shutting out Oakfield–Alabama 3–0 in a battle of Class D1 opponents.
Over in Byron, Byron–Bergen continued their strong season with a 3–1 victory over Pavilion.
And rounding out the night, Le Roy delivered a statement win, sweeping Hornell in straight sets 3–0.
