New York State has announced the final list of projects to receive $10-million in funding under the Downtown Revitalization Initiative.
The biggest project to get funded: $4-million for a new YMCA / Healthy Living Campus being developed by the YM and UMMC.
Interim City Manager Matt Worth said its the biggest project of the package:
Also getting final approval for funding: $1-million for the City Center Mall, $1-million for the former Carr’s Department Store Building, $1.1-million for the Save a lot building on Ellicott Street, $425,000 for Ellicott Station and its proposed craft brewery, $700,000 for the Batavia Players Theatre in the Mall and $750,000 to fix up Jackson Square.

A Erie County based company plans to build a $6.3-million facility in the Apple Tree Acres business Park in Bergen.
J Rental of East Amherst is asking for $720,000 in tax breaks for the project which is expected to create 15 new jobs.

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean Mc-Coy is denying domestic violence allegations. The claims were made on Instagram by a woman who has been identified as Mc-Coy’s ex-girlfriend Delicia Cordon. In the post, Mc-Coy is also accused of injuring his son, a dog and also taking drugs. Mc-Coy says he hasn’t had any contact with Cordon in months. In a statement, the Bills say they’re gathering information about the case.

It looks like, after nearly 40 years, the city of Batavia, is slowly getting working on development projects, not quite like Genesee Community College, but hey, it’s a start.
