On this page, we spotlight the athlete or athletes who earned Player of the Game honors in the games we broadcast the previous week. We’ve been giving out Player of the Game awards since the 1960s, and for the first time, we’re now digitally honoring our winners. WBTA’s Player of the Game is brought to you by TF Brown’s.

Chloe Lamb – Oakfield-Alabama Softball
In Monday’s WBTA Game of the Week against Avoca-Prattsburgh, Chloe Lamb turned in a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a single, double, and triple. She finished just a home run shy of hitting for the cycle. Oakfield-Alabama secured a 13-1 victory in six innings, preventing Lamb from getting a fourth at-bat to complete the feat. Even so, her offensive performance helped fuel the Hornets’ dominant win and set the tone throughout the game.

Raine Denny – Oakfield-Alabama Softball
In Friday’s WBTA Game of the Week against Forestville, Raine Denny went 2-for-2 at the plate with two home runs and a walk. Her first blast was a two-run shot with two outs in the bottom of the first inning, giving Oakfield-Alabama an early 2-0 lead. Denny struck again in the fourth inning with another home run to extend the advantage to 3-0. Denny also made a defensive play in the 4th inning, putting her body in front of a ground ball at second base to keep it in the infield, a play Coach Schlagenhauf said was instrumental in their win. After a quiet postseason at the plate, Denny’s bat came alive at the perfect time, providing a spark for the Hornets in a 6-1 victory.
