This week’s WBTA Pet of the Week is Dexter, a three-year-old Goldendoodle owned by Katie Powell and her husband, John Velletta. Dexter was surrendered as a puppy from a mill before finding his way to Katie and John, where he has since settled into a much happier life. His name was inspired by the television series Dexter—and, fittingly enough, he has developed a rather unusual favorite hobby: stalking his owners.

Whether Katie and John are moving around the house or going about their day, chances are Dexter isn’t too far behind, keeping a close eye on everything they’re doing. When he’s not busy with his surveillance duties, Dexter enjoys going to daycare, settling in for a good nap, and getting outside to play with his two neighborhood dog friends, Rex and Alex.

Dexter may be the only pet in his household, but he certainly keeps his owners entertained all on his own. And when it’s time for a reward, liver treats are the quickest way to his heart. From his comical stalking habit to his playful personality, Dexter has found the perfect home and makes a great choice for this week’s WBTA Pet of the Week.
