Kathy Hochul switches her support after being backed by the NRA.
While campaigning for reelection in 2012 against Chris Collins, Kathy Hochul actively sought out and obtained support from the National Rifle Association with the PAC donating $7,000 to her campaign.
Collins who eventually won the seat only received $1,000 from the NRA PAC.
Lieutenant Governor Hochul now appears to be cheering for the NRA’s demise as she seems to have increasingly aligned herself with rhetoric from Cuomo’s administration.
Last week Hochul retweeted a statement by the Governor and responded “good riddance!” in reference to the NRA apparently being driven to the brink of financial ruin.
In a statement defending the tweet Hochul said.
“The NRA’s extremist and unlawful actions are promoting violence and threatening the lives of people in New York and across the country.”
Hochul told SCOPE members in 2012 that she would protect Second Amendment rights and shortly after the meeting received an A rating from the NRA.

Bears spotted in Corfu and Pembroke.
More black bear sightings were reported yesterday evening around Scribner and Lake Road in Pembroke along with another bear seen strolling through a backyard in Corfu.
Officials encourage using loud noises to chase them away but to always keep your distance and never approach a bear, even when it’s in your backyard.
Central Ave woman busted on bench warrant and resisting arrest.
Batavia police responded to 41 Central Ave for an open 9-1-1 call where they reportedly found 30 year old Minnie Henry, a Batavia resident wanted on a City Court bench warrant from June of this year.
Henry was accused of physically resisting officers attempting to arrest her and was additionally charged with resisting arrest.
She was committed to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
Local announcer and WBTA alumni named to the New York Penn League Hall of Fame.
The inductees for the New York‐Penn League Hall of Fame Class of 2018 have been announced and topping out the list is former WBTA personality Wayne Fuller.
Fuller’s voice was a constant in Batavia, the birthplace of the New York-Penn League. Wayne served as a radio broadcaster here at WBTA, a PA announcer and Official Scorer from his spot in the Batavia press box which was named the Wayne H. Fuller Press Box in 2009.
Fuller passed away in February of 2018 but will forever be remembered as a shining example of the connection between a team and a community.
