Church patrons in Batavia targeted by an intoxicated Tennessee man behind the wheel.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s received report of a reckless driver attempting to run over patrons at a church on Bank Street Road in Batavia.
The incident occurred outside the Northgate Free Methodist Church just before 7 o’clock last night according to authorities.
63 year old Paul Hussey of South Hurricanemills Tennessee was taken into custody and was subsequently accused of driving under the influence and being the possession of Meth.
Hussey was charged with four counts each of Attempted Assault with a dangerous instrument and Reckless Endangerment and along with DWAI by a combination of drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.
He was remanded in lieu of $25,000 bail to the Genesee County Jail.
Damage accidents and threats in Pavilion land a Depew man in lock up.
Following investigation into a disturbance on Telephone Road in Pavilion late last night, deputies arrested 23 year old Joseph Sieg of French Road Depew.
Sieg is accused of threatening four people with a knife then allegedly driving away from two property damage accidents while under the influence.
He was charged with Menacing with a deadly weapon, DWI, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and is scheduled to appear in Pavilion Town Court at a later date.
Congressman Chris Collins continues push for reelection amid serious charges.
While facing charges of insider trading The Western New York congressman says he will remain on the ballot for this year’s mid-term elections.
Federal prosecutors say Republican Chris Collins tipped off his son to sell shares in a pharmaceutical company before unfavorable results of a clinical drug trial were made public.
Collins says the charges are “meritless.”
His challenger in the mid-term election, democrat Nate McMurray, says he is not surprised by the charges
Collins has been removed from the powerful Energy and Commerce Committee by House Speaker Paul Ryan, pending the outcome of the case.
Collins is vowing to fight the charges.
Muckdogs rained out in Auburn.
The Batavia team will return home to Dwyer Stadium today to start what was scheduled to be a home and away series against the Auburn Doubledays.
Last night’s away game was postponed due to rain and the series now starts this evening at 7:05 pm.

Ross Street Closing this morning.
Ross Street will be closed today from Ellsworth Ave. to Miller Ave. to all through traffic for a street repair.
The repair will start at 7:30 am.
All motorist that regularly use this street will need to seek alternative routes while the closure is in place.
