Attica man behind bars for alleged Child sex abuse in Perry.
Perry Police have arrested 21 year old Cody Crandall of North Main Street in Attica following investigation into a report that Crandall had sexual contact with a five year old female victim.
Investigators were tipped off of the alleged incident of abuse that was reported at a residence in Perry.
He is facing charges of first degree Sexual Abuse, Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child and was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
He is expected back in Perry Village Court on September 11th.

Assemblyman Hawley continues to call out Cuomo for failing to address Thruway sign issue.
Assemblyman Steve Hawley of Batavia is again calling on Governor Cuomo to remove the blue I Love-NY Thruway signs that were deemed illegal according to federal highway codes.
Hawley urged the Governor to act before the state loses the ability to recoup the $14 million it was fined this winter.
According to the Assemblyman the Cuomo administration previously installed the signs despite knowing they were against federal law.
New York has until Sept. 30 to remove all the signs.

The clock is ticking down on picking a replacement for Congressman Chris Collins for the November ballots
The deadline is September 21st for Republican leaders to choose one of the eight candidates still in the running.
Collins decided to discontinue his push for re-election after being arrested on federal charges.
Whoever ends up as the Republican party pick will be vying for the Congressional seat against Democrat Nate McMurray on Election Day.

The four Democrats hoping to be the next state attorney general are trading jabs as the election draws near.
They faced off in a debate last night in Manhattan, where New York City Public Advocate Letitia James and two others targeted law professor Zephyr Teachout.

U.S. Representative Sean Patrick Maloney and attorney Leecia Eve are also hoping to win the primary election set for September 13th.

Muckdogs continue streak against the Spikes.
The Batavia Muckdogs swept the three game series against the State College Spikes with their fourth win in a row last night ending in a final score of 8 to 1.
The Dogs head down to Mahoning Valley to take on the scrappers for a three game series as the season starts to wind down.

Local Law Enforcement continue crackdown through Labor Day.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, City of Batavia and Village of LeRoy Police Departments will be participating in a special enforcement effort to crackdown on impaired driving.
Officers across the State will take to the roads in an effort to stop impaired driving, prevent injuries and save lives during the statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown effort which has been ongoing since August 17th and will end on September 3rd.

City Paving picks up tomorrow.
Tracy Avenue between Washington Avenue and North Street in Batavia will be closed to all through traffic tomorrow for paving operations.
The closure is expected between 7 AM and 5 PM and all motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes while the closure is in place.
Residents within the area should plan on parking on adjacent streets until the street is reopened.
This work is weather dependent and subject to be rescheduled sometime after Labor Day if it rains.
