31 year old Nathaniel Wilson of Batavia will spend at the least the next 20 years in state prison.
Wilson was sentenced today to a term of 20 years to life for the stabbing death of Terry Toote on Central Avenue last May.
Wilson accepted a plea deal in the case. Police surveillance video clearly showed that Wilson stabbed Toote in the heart after he had already fallen to ground.
Before he was sentenced, Wilson said he never meant to kill Toote and that he was sorry for what he had done. Several members of Toote’s family appeared in court and made presentence statements.
A carjacking that began at the Kwik Fill gas station on Jackson Street this morning ended in a one car crash near the VA Medical Center.
According to a witness a man allegedly shoved a female out of her car before speeding off down Ellicott Street.

Constantine Murrell
The car caught fire but the suspect was not hurt.
He was later identified as 35 year old Constantine Murrell of Rochester.
He was charged robbery, fleeing a police officer and several traffic charges.
Murrell is currently on parole in a case involving a 76 year old woman who had stopped at a gas station.
A Corfu man gets five-months of intermittent jail time for welfare fraud.
39 year old Edwin Stancliff failed to report to social services that he had received state disability payments, receiving almost 2-thosuand dollars in welfare benefits he was not entitled to.
Families of victims killed in the crash of Colgan Air Flight 3407 are asking Congress to keep safety standards passed after the tragedy in place. Right now, they’re set to expire at the end of the month. Before the 2009 crash, pilots with fewer than 250 hours of flight time were allowed to be at the controls of commercial airlines. But since then, that requirement has been raised to about 15-hundred hours. Investigators say pilot error caused the crash that killed 50 people.
