Wintry precipitation is hampering the evening commute across Genesee County. A Winter Weather advisory is in effect until tomorrow morning.
The combination of steady snow, mixed at times with sleet are coating roads and creating hazardous driving conditions.
Roads that are untreated will be particularly hazardous.
Visibility at times will be reduced to a mile.
The National Weather Service is advising motorists to allow extra time to reach your destination.

 

Following the recent death of K-9 Destro, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office has received what they call overwhelming support for their K-9 fund.
Chief Deputy Jerome Brewster says the financial support may be enough to purchase and train two dogs

They’ve been off the campaign trails for days, but Congressman Chris Collins and Nate McMurray are still exchanging barbs. This time, it involves absentee ballot counting in the 27th Congressional District. McMurray is predicting a dead heat with Collins if the current counting trend continues.
Collins disagrees, saying McMurray struggles with basic math.

Actor and native New Yorker Ben Stiller is making his directorial debut with the prison drama, Escape at Dannemora.
The Showtime miniseries tells the story how two inmates, serving life sentences for murder, broke out of the Clinton Correctional Facility in New York three years ago. Escape at Dannemora premieres this Sunday night at 10.
