Blue Devil’s in shape to become the next State Champions.
The Batavia Blue Devil’s football team is continuing to dominate post season with an undefeated record.
Batavia came out on top over Skaneatles with a final score of 54 to 49 in the Class B Football State Championship Semi-final Saturday in Endicott.
Stand out Ray Leach had 474 yards and eight more touchdowns in the semi-final match.
Batavia’s head Coach Brennan Briggs says it’s hard to find the words to describe his star player…

Over the past three games, Leach has rushed for more than 1,200 yards and 22 touchdowns. He broke his state tournament record for rushing yards, total yards, and tied his record for touchdowns.
The Blue Devils head to the Carrier Dome in Syracuse to take on Glens Falls for the Class B Championship at Noon, Saturday.

Brothers on Walnut Street busted in connection with local burglaries.
Deputies took 27 year old Malik Ayala into custody on an arrest warrant issued by Batavia Town Court for Possession of Stolen Property in the third degree.
Ayala was taken into custody Friday for allegedly possessing more than 3-thousand dollars’ worth of stolen property stemming from an incident on Veterans Memorial Drive in October.
Malik Ayala was ordered to be held in the Genesee County Jail in lieu of 20-thousand dollars bail with his next court appearance scheduled for December 17th in Town Court.
Malik’s younger brother 19 year old TeeSean Ayala was arrested after a traffic stop last week where he was allegedly in possession of a stolen handgun while being accompanied by his even younger 14 year old brother.
TeeSean was jailed in lieu of bail on felony charges.

Two Albion men arrested for a home invasion in the town of Yates.
22 year old Dominic DeCarlo is charged with Robbery and burglary while 20 year old Spencer Freeman is charged with possession of stolen property and conspiracy and tampering with evidence.
Lawmen say DeCarlo used a replica AK-47 to rob the homeowner of video games, cash and pot.

A Rochester man has been indicted for a violent carjacking in Batavia involving a 76 year old woman who had just stopped for gas..
35 year old Constantine Murrell is facing felony charges of robbery and assault for the September 25th carjacking at the Kwik Fill gas station on Ellicott Street.
Authorities say Murrell took off in the stolen car and led police on a chase that ended when he crashed into a tree near VA campus.
No one was injured in the incident. Murrell was on parole at the time.

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement regarding possible patchy black ice for the morning drive.
Road surfaces are wet in some areas following rain and wet snow showers that fell overnight. Temperatures will drop to near or just below freezing by around daybreak, which may allow for patchy black ice to form on untreated roads, sidewalks, and parking lots.
Motorists should use caution and be alert for slick spots this morning. Black ice is very difficult to see, roads that appear just wet may in fact be icy.

The surging Buffalo Sabres will look to keep their winning streak alive tonight.
They’re visiting PPG Paints Arena to take on the struggling Pittsburgh Penguins.
Buffalo has won five straight games, while Pittsburgh is among the worst teams in the Eastern Conference.
The game is set for seven o’clock tonight.
