Scary scene, nearly overlooked by first responder in Pembroke.
Report of a motor vehicle accident in the area of 8144 Slusser Road in Pembroke ended without injury after a local lawmen happened to overlook the initial incident.
A caller reported shortly before 7 o’clock yesterday evening of seeing a vehicle then hearing two loud bangs, and then somebody yelling for help.
A Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputy was the first to arrive on scene.
The deputy suggested the vehicle had left after initially overlooking the scene and not finding any apparent accident.
Further search of the nearby creek revealed that a car had indeed crashed and was found completely submerged underwater.
The driver, who was in the water for about two minutes, was fortunate enough to swim out without injuries and was transported to UMMC for evaluation.
The accident remains under investigation.

An Albion man jailed without bail following 911 hang up.
Batavia Police have arrested 30 year old John Snook of Oak Orchard Road in Albion on counts of Criminal Contempt and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Police discovered Snook was in violation of a stay away order of protection after responding to a Jackson Street residence following a 911 hang up call from the address.
He was also allegedly found in possession of pot.
Snook was committed without bail to the Genesee County Jail and is expected to appear in City Court this afternoon.

Bethany man with an extensive arrest record jailed for repeated violation.
38 year old Sath Dhanda of Clapsaddle Road was arrested last
Wednesday by City Police following investigation accusing him of violating an order of protection on two separate occasions.
Dhanda has an extensive criminal history and just last month appeared in Genesee County Court where he was sentenced to eight months in jail on a criminal trespass conviction.
Dhanda was arrested on two counts of Criminal Contempt and remanded to the Genesee County Jail without bail to await his next appearance in City Court.

The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign will be in effect until January 1st.
If you’re on the roads, expect to see more patrols and sobriety checkpoints.
During last year’s crackdown, more than 40-thousand tickets were handed out.

Josh Allen’s fourth quarter 42-yard touchdown pass to Robert Foster lifted the Buffalo Bills to a 14-13 home victory over the Lions.
Allen threw for 204 yards and ran three yards for a second quarter touchdown.
Foster caught four passes for 108 yards.
Buffalo ended a two-game skid and is 5-and-9.
The Lions fell to 5-and-9 and were eliminated from playoff contention.

Jeff Skinner scored twice, including the go-ahead goal to lift the Sabres to a 4-2 win over the Bruins in Boston.
Jack Eichel also scored twice and had a pair of assists for Buffalo.
Linus Ullmark stopped 35 of 37 shots for the Sabres, who have won three of their last four.
Steven Kampfer and Torey Krug each had goals in the loss for Boston.
Tuuka Rask allowed three goals on 26 shots for the Bruins, who have lost two straight.
