Apartment fire shuts down the Perry Bowling Center.
A four-alarm fire at the Perry Bowling Center in Perry has led to the temporary shutdown of the facility.
The fire is said to have started Monday afternoon in an upstairs apartment above the bowling center at 22 Covington Street in Perry.
There were no injuries reported however, two female residents have been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
There was significant water and smoke damage to the snack bar area and the owner said it will take time to assess the total impact of the blaze.
In the meantime, plans to host The Genesee Region USBC Scratch Memorial Tournament on Saturday and Sunday at the bowling center have been moved to Livingston Lanes in Geneseo.

Assault against officers at Darien Lake Concert leads to indictment against a Mississippi man.
23 year old Robert Maharrey of Okolona, Mississippi is facing a 6 count indictment after a violent assault at a Jason Aldean Concert in August.
He is accused of assaulting two sheriff’s deputies including spitting in the face of a deputy, headbutting a deputy in the face and breaking his nose, striking a woman in the face and fighting with Live Nation Security.
Maharrey is facing two counts of disorderly conduct, two counts of harassment, assault and assault on a police officer which is a class C felony.

A Bergen resident is busted for violating an order of protection.
State Police based in Batavia have arrested 53 year old Octavio Tardy of Bergen following report from a West Main Street address in Batavia on New Year’s Eve.
Tardy was charged with a Class A Misdemeanor count of Criminal Contempt and was remanded to Jail in lieu of bail.

Deputies make New Year’s Eve DWI arrest in Bergen.
40 year old Tevin Dowdell of Rochester was stopped for allegedly speeding on Clinton Street in Bergen Monday night.
Upon further investigation officers determined Dowdell was driving without a license in a vehicle that did not have a valid inspection.
Dowdell was charged with DWI, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Refusal to take a breath test and was remanded to Genesee County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.
He is expected to appear in County Court today.

Albion water main break has been fixed.
The break happened around 12:30 Tuesday morning and has led to the closure of State Route 98 from Bank Street to Caroline Street in the Village and is responsible for flooding a home on Main Street.
Department of Public Works employees have fixed the break however the boil water order will remain in effect for about three to four days.

President Trump is inviting leaders of Congress from both sides of the aisle to a briefing on border security.
Today’s meeting at the White House will be led by officials from the Department of Homeland Security.
Leaders from each party in both the House and the Senate, including New York Senator Chuck Schumer, are invited to attend.
The briefing comes just a day before Democrats take control of the House.
Democrats and the White House are at an impasse over ending a partial government shutdown with the sticking point being funding for a border wall.
