The National Weather Service is warning local residents to expect freezing rain early Wednesday morning, which could affect the morning commute.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for Wednesday from 2 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Up to 1/10th of an inch of freezing rain could fall with wind gusts up to 40 mph.
Untreated roads could be slippery and there may be limited visibility at times making travel potentially hazardous.
Flags at Monroe County buildings will be lowered until Thursday in honor of Jeffrey Farrell.
The county worker died on the job Friday after a tractor trailer went off the road on Route 104, traveled down an embankment and killed him. The truck driver also died.
Several luxury transportation companies in New York are pushing back against Governor Cuomo’s plan to ban stretch limos.
The governor shared his idea last week, largely in response to the deadly limo crash in Schoharie [[ SCO-hairy ]] that claimed 20 lives last October. Now, several business owners are calling for better enforcement of existing laws, saying the industry would be devastated if all stretch limos were banned, despite the fact that some call the vehicles unsafe.
Car crash into a house leads to arrest for a Holley resident.
44 year old Lawrence Lentz of Holley was arrested by State Police out of Albion following an incident in the Town of Murray.
Police were called last Saturday to the intersection of State Route 104 and State Route 237 for a report of a vehicle that struck a house.
Police said Lentz showed signs of intoxication and failed several subsequent field sobriety tests.
