Genesee County’s Economic Development Center helps out a local small business.
Tenney Laundry has been granted $15,832 in sales tax breaks in return for its $197,896 investment in new equipment.
Tenney has also applied to the city’s development corporation for a grant to repair its façade.
The GCEDC also approved tax breaks of $206,000 for Gateway GS to build out the interior of a building its already owns in the Gateway 2 Corporate Park in the Town of Batavia. The $450,000 project is expected to create five jobs.
This note for Batavia motorists: on Monday afternoon, Ellicott Ave will be closed between West Main and Mix Place.

The baby suffered substantial bruising and broken ribs.
Augsbury is charged with felony assault and child endangerment.

48-year-old Frank Cassata was convicted of hitting and killing a three-year-old Rochester boy.
Cassata was drunk when he purposely went off the road on Lyell Avenue last June and killed the boy Cassata said he was trying to hit someone else.
