Batavia Burglary lands a Lockport man in lock-up.
54 year old Heyward Clark Jr. of Locust Street Lockport has been apprehended by Batavia Police on two separate Batavia City Court Arrest Warrants.
Clark was located and taken into custody after being identified as a passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop in Batavia.
He was accused of committing a burglary at a School Street address in the city in October of 2016.
Clark was sent to the Genesee County Jail without bail on charges of Burglary, Petit Larceny and Criminal Mischief.
He is expected to reappear in City Court at a later date.
Batavia woman busted for fighting at the County Courthouse.
41 year old Andrea Gray of West Main Street Road was arrested by Genesee County Deputies on a count of second degree Harassment following an incident at the Genesee County Courts Facility last Thursday afternoon.
Gray was accused of engaging in a physical altercation with a male subject at the courthouse.
She was released on her own recognizance and is due back in City Court at a later date.
Rollover crash in LeRoy ends in arrest for a Rochester resident.
30 year old Daniel Carpenter was taken into custody Saturday morning by Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies following investigation into a one vehicle rollover crash on Route 19 in LeRoy.
Carpenter was charged with DWI, Moving from a Lane Unsafely and Possessing an Open Container of Alcohol in a motor vehicle.
He suffered minor injuries in the accident and was ultimately released with appearance tickets for May 7th in LeRoy Town Court.
City Police bust a Batavia woman for Grand Larceny.
29 year old Krystal Frye of West Main Street Road was arrested by Police in Batavia following investigation into a stolen wallet from a Maple Street apartment on April Fools’ Day.
Frye was charged with Grand Larceny in the fourth degree for stealing a credit card and was subsequently released with an appearance ticket for tomorrow afternoon in Batavia City Court.

Howard Owens, publisher of The Batavian, received three awards in the annual Better Newspaper Contest sponsored by the New York Press Association.
Owens won first place for spot news photography and education coverage and second place for elections/politics coverage.
The Buffalo Sabres are cutting ties with head coach Phil Housley.
The team fired him yesterday after missing the playoffs for the eighth season in a row.
The leadership change comes after the Sabres had a 10 game winning streak and the most points of any NHL team back in November.
Housley had just said at a press conference Saturday that he expected to be the coach of the Sabres next season.
