Misdemeanor charges have been filed against an Albion man in the death two years ago of a baby boy.
29 year old Nicholas Monacelli of Eagle Harbor Road has been charged with Reckless Endangerment and Endangering the welfare of a child.
The investigation began in July of 2017 when police were called to a home on Beechwood Boulevard in Albion and found 11 month old Damon Carter with a severe head injury.
The child died the next day at Strong Hospital.
Albion Police said their investigation showed that Monachelli was caring for Damon at the time and that Monacelli’s actions “knowingly and recklessly” resulted in the child’s injuries.
Monachelli has been jailed in lieu of $1,000 dollars bail.

 

State Police based in Batavia are investigating an early morning robbery at the 7-11 in Oakfield.
It happened just before 1 a.m. this morning.
A surveillance photo has been released.
Anyone with information is asked to call state police in Batavia.

Assemblyman Steve Hawley of Batavia is urging his constituents to rally for a veto of the so-called Safe Storage Bill.
Hawley says passage of the law could virtually wipe out all youth shooting competitions and training for young people under 16 years of age.
