Alexander Town Clerk arrested under Election Law.
42 year old Lisa Lynn Lyons of Alexander Road in Attica, is charged with two counts of misconduct in relation to petitions, a violation of NYS Election Law.
She is accused of making a false statement pertaining to a petition supporting her designation as the Republican candidate for the upcoming Town Clerk of Alexander position.
It’s alleged that she did not witness all signatures of the filed petition.
Lyons is the incumbent Town of Alexander Clerk and Tax Collector until her term expires on December 31st.
She was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Batavia City Court on May 21.
Sheriff’s Deputies bust two Rochester men for a reported theft from the Batavia Cycle Center.
Deputies say a witness reported early yesterday Morning seeing two men with a pick-up truck and trailer hauling away two go-carts and a three wheeler ATV.
The truck was stopped on Route 33 near Coward Rd.
The driver, 18 year old Devin Hill and his passenger, 43 year old Angel Carrasquillo (cara-see-oh) both of Rochester were charged with Burglary and Grand Larceny and jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
A Bethany Woman arrested under Leandra’s Law.
35 year old Taraleen Tundo of Linden Road Bethany is facing a litany of charges following investigation into a driving complaint in LeRoy.
Tundo was allegedly observed in a gray Ford Taurus failing to maintain a single lane westbound on Route 5 and was eventually stopped by deputies on Main Road in Stafford.
According to deputies Tundo failed field sobriety tests and was also driving with a small child and in possession of pot and a controlled substance.
She was taken into custody on counts of DWAI by Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Pot and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
She was released with appearance tickets for June 4th in Stafford Town Court.
A Batavia resident who was originally accused of attempted murder for stabbing somebody at a home on Ellicott Street, has accepted a plea agreement that will likely mean a five-year prison term.
40 year old Rashawn Gosier, formerly of Shady Lane pleaded guilty to attempted assault and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Gosier was arrested in December after an incident at an Ellicott Street address that led to a brief manhunt before he was apprehended crawling out of the basement of that residence.
Orleans County Man Sentenced to 18 Months for Defrauding NYSDOT on Federally Funded Contracts
47 year old Nathaniel Lorenz of Holley was sentenced to 18 months, and to pay restitution in the amount of $600,000, following his trial conviction last year on wire and mail fraud charges.
Lorenz was convicted on all eight counts of wire fraud and one count of mail fraud following a 7-day trial in November of last year.
Lorenz, a former police officer and sheriff’s deputy, submitted fake invoices to the New York State Department of Transportation in order to conceal that he was not buying the materials needed to perform bridge maintenance contracts in the Buffalo and Binghamton regions, for which his company was ultimately paid more than $1 million dollars for.
He was also ordered to be on 2 years of supervised release.
