Attorney for Antwan Odom claims his client acted in self-defense.
Antwan Odom’s defense attorney, Frank Housh of Buffalo, is now attempting to turn the tables on his clients alleged victim, Batavia Football star Ray Leach, by calling into question his role in an altercation last fall.
Odom who was also a Batavia High School athlete was accused of cutting Ray Leach with a knife during an apparent argument in August of last year.
Now Odom’s Attorney will file a motion in advance of a trial later this year that will allow him to call into question Leach’s character.

Odom turned down a plea offer in Genesee County Court Friday that could have meant no jail time.
Apparently Odom was taking the advice of his attorney who didn’t feel there was enough of a guarantee from the court that Odom could be adjudicated a youthful offender and avoid a prison term.
A hearing on the motions is set for July 2nd.

A Batavia man, accused of attempted murder, has been found mentally incapable of assisting in his own defense.
The ruling was made by County Court Judge Charles Zambito in the case of 23 year old Plush Dozier.
Doizier was charged with arson and attempted murder for allegedly setting fire to his girlfriend’s Maple Street apartment last year while she was inside.
Judge Zambito said three doctors found that Dozier can slip from lucid to psychotic at any time.

Accident on Francis Road in Bethany ends in arrest for a Wyoming man.
35 year old Jonathan Arce of Wyoming Street Wyoming was placed under arrest following investigation into a one car motor vehicle crash on Francis Road in Bethany Friday evening.
Arce reportedly declined medical treatment or transport when first responders arrived but was untimely charged with counts of DWI and moving from a lane unsafely.
He was issued an appearance ticket for May 21st in Bethany Town Court.

An Orleans County Man is sentenced to 18 Months in prison for defrauding the state transportation department.
47 year old Nathaniel Lorenz of Holley was also ordered pay restitution in the amount of $600,000.
Lorenz, a former police officer submitted fake invoices to the New York State DOT in order to conceal that he was not buying the materials needed to perform bridge contracts in the Buffalo and Binghamton regions.

Prisoners are being called in to keep communities along Lake Ontario safe from flooding.
The inmates are working to fill sandbags that will be given to homeowners and businesses to protect their property.
