Fatal two car accident in Alabama.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal two car motor vehicle accident that claimed the life of an Alabama man on Friday afternoon.
Emergency Dispatchers received the call at around quarter after three Friday afternoon for a personal injury accident at the intersection of Bloomingdale Road and Tesnow Road in Alabama.
According to investigators a black 2003 Dodge Ram operated by 17 year old Matthew Murzynowski of Akron crossed the centerline into the opposite lane while heading westbound on Bloomingdale striking an eastbound 2019 Chevy Equinox operated by 78 year old Leroy George of Alabama.
Both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage in the head on collision coming to rest at the intersection.
Murzynowski was taken to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital for minor injuries while George was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
An assault in Pembroke leads to arrest for an Alabama resident.
38 year old Clint Towne of Alleghany Road in Alabama was taken into custody by Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies following a reported domestic incident at a Phelps Road address in Pembroke Friday night.
Towne was accused of breaking a glass door, which caused glass to shatter and physically injure the victim and was also accused of choking the victim.
He was charged with Assault, Harassment and Criminal Mischief and after being arraigned in Pembroke Town Court was released under supervision of Genesee Justice.
Towne’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 9th.
Family of five displaced after a house fire in Perry.
Report of a house fire at a Bradford Street residence in the Village of Perry came in at around quarter after seven Thursday night.
Fire crews from Perry, Perry Center, Warsaw, Castile and Silver Springs were called into action fighting the blaze for approximately four and a half hours.
According to fire investigators an overheated fan in a second story bedroom window sparked the blaze.
The fire along with smoke and water damage caused an estimated $30,000 in damages and displaced three adults and two children who are now being assisted by the Red Cross.
Fortunately there were no injuries reported.
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is weighing in on the use of the term “socialism” to describe the Democratic Party.
During a Democratic presidential debate in Miami Thursday night, Gillibrand said there is a difference between capitalism and greed.
She cited that gun violence still exists because of the greed of gun manufacturers.
Gillibrand says Democrats want healthy capitalism, not corrupted capitalism.
