Hot Weather Alters Local Events

Youth program cancellations are occurring due to the high heat index in Western New York.
The Ricky Palermo annual soccer clinic scheduled for tomorrow is canceled due to the dangerous heat index. The clinic will be postponed until next Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Batavia Sports Park. Contact rickypalermo24@gmail.com or Roger Hume at 345-1701 with questions or concerns.
Due to the extreme temperatures forecast for tomorrow, the City of Batavia Summer Recreation Program will be closed to ensure the safety of participants. The program will resume as scheduled Monday. The Youth Center at 12 MacArthur Drive will remain open from 1 to 6 p.m. for children ages 10 through 16. The program apologizes for the inconvenience and encourages anyone with questions to contact the Youth Bureau.
