School officials comment on threat that closed LeRoy Schools
Written by WBTA STAFF on September 27, 2019
LeRoy Central School is closed today for a threat posted on social media.
The school district reported at 7 this morning that police were investigating a “credible threat” made to the school and that the schools would be closed.
An unnamed junior-senior high school student allegedly sent the threatening message on snap-chat sometime early this morning before school officials were made aware through an anonymous reporting system…
After reading a statement saying that the investigation and incident had been resolved, LeRoy School Superintendent Merritt Holly commented on what qualified the message as a credible threat in his opinion…
There were no arrests made and the district along with the family and police department are working together to decide the proper course of action.
The school is in lockout today and all afterschool activities have been cancelled for today to resume tomorrow.
The LeRoy versus Avon Football game originally scheduled for tonight has been rescheduled for tomorrow night at 7 and can be heard on WBTA’s LeRoy Sports Stream via our website or our mobile app.
