A Medina man is being held without bail in Genesee County after deputies say he was found in possession of crack cocaine during his arrest on a sealed indictment warrant out of Orleans County Court.
30 year old Akeem Gibson of Frank Street Medina was taken into custody on a warrant for drug sales and possession by Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies on Sunday following investigation by the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force into the distribution of crack cocaine in the Village of Albion.
Gibson was arraigned in Orleans County Court on 2 counts each of Criminal Sale and Criminal Possession of a Controlled a Substance and was then turned over to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office where he was additionally arraigned in Batavia City Court on Class B and C level felonies for drug possession.
Gibson was ordered to be held without bail by Judge Durin Rogers until he appears back in Genesee County Court for further proceedings.
Gison is expected back in Orleans County Court to face additonal felony charges while the investigation continues with further charges and arrests pending.

Bethany man arrested for an unwanted illumination.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of 51 year old John Clark of Linden Road following investigation into a harassment complaint in Bethany late last night.
Deputies say Clark had been shining a light in a victim’s window repeatedly over a prolonged period of time.
He was charged with Harassment and issued an appearance ticket for March 17th in Bethany Town Court.

Former Republican Congressman Chris Collins is going to be a free man for a few more weeks.
He was supposed to report to federal prison on March 17th, but that’s been pushed back until April 21st at the request of his lawyers.
The Buffalo News reports the delay is connected to the Federal Bureau of Prisons still deciding where Collins will serve his 26-month sentence.
Collins stepped down from his post representing the 27th Congressional District last year after pleading guilty to federal insider trading charges.
A special election to fill the seat is being held April 28th.

The state Legislature has passed a bill allowing 40-million dollars to be used in the fight against coronavirus.
Governor Cuomo requested the funding just last week.
The money will go towards providing health departments with the necessary funding to buy equipment, hire staff and gather any additional resources.
The bill now goes to the governor’s desk, but there’s no word on when he may sign it.

The Buffalo Sabres will be looking to gain ground in the Eastern Conference playoff standings tonight.
They’ll be visiting the Winnipeg Jets at Bell MTS Arena.
Right now, the Sabres are 12 points behind the Toronto Maple Leafs for third place in the Atlantic Division with 17 games to play.
Faceoff for tonight’s contest is set for 8 p.m.
