The CDC has stated that they want all schools across the country to be back in full in person session come the fall. As far as masks they are still recommending that all non vaccinated students and teachers continue to wear masks indoors but say that vaccinated persons don’t need to wear the masks. School districts will have to follow state regulations and no word yet on whether schools will require proof of vaccination against COVID 19 for students to forgo masking.
The FDA and the CDC are both saying that Americans will not need a booster shot of COVID vaccine to remain immunized against the virus and its strains. The CDC says that in tests so far the vaccines have kept their effectiveness even several months after administration. Pfizer had said that a third dose may be needed and submitted booster shots for approval. CDC data shows that one dose of Johnson and Johnson or two doses of Pfizer or Moderna Vaccines are still 93 percent effective in keeping people who contract COVID out of the hospital even if the efficacy of the vaccine in preventing catching the disease drops to 65 percent after 6 months.
