Governor Cuomo has signed a new law aimed at blocking those annoying robo-texts from telemarketers.
While residents currently have protection against unwanted robocalls, the measure closes a loophole that previously didn’t define text messages as telemarketing.
While telemarketing isn’t illegal, people can place their phone numbers on a company’s Do Not Call list to avoid being contacted.
The governor hasn’t said how this new change involving text messages will be enforced.
A new poll shows that most New Yorkers believe the worst days of the COVID-19 pandemic have already come and gone. According to Siena College, 68-percent of people surveyed think that’s the case even though 47-percent of folks are still worried about contracting the illness.
When it comes to personal health, 49-percent of people said they gained weight during the pandemic.

48-year-old Wade Jared Murphy of Clarendon collared by Gennesee County Deputies for strangulation, unlawful imprisonment and assault. Deputies say Murphy, a parolee, allegedly held a female against her will and strangled her at a home on Sunset Parkway in Oakfield
Agriculture is Genesee County’s largest industry, and now it is being given a home to showcase its importance and its history.
The Genesee County Ag Society is holding an Open House today at what is being called the Agri-Culture Center.
It is located at 50-22 East Main Street, the site of the old Country Max store. The hours are 4 until 8pm today.
The center will showcase vintage Ag machines, tools, toys, signs, and memorabilia.
The Ag Society plans to build classrooms for 4-H, FFA, cooperative extension and the general agriculture community.
