62-year-old Ronald Washburn of Stafford has been indicted on charges of sexually abusing two children, in separate cases 10 years apart. Both children were less than 11 years of age. Washburn was their babysitter; the investigation has been ongoing since 2018.

 

 

 

 

37-year-old Donald Dylag, Jr. of Corfu has been indicted on one count of assault in the second degree, a Class D violent felony. Dylag is accused of intent to cause serious physical injury to a person in Pembroke on August 9th.

 

 

54-year-old Ronald Charles Inzinna of LeRoy is charged with criminal contempt. He is accused of violating a stay-away order of protection in the Town of Le Roy. Inzinna was issued an appearance ticket.

 

 

 

General Motors has announced it plans to invest $68,000,000 (million) in its plant in Rochester. The automaker says the move will help position them in the forefront of the rapidly-growing electric vehicle market. Officials with G-M say the Rochester plant is uniquely positioned to help enable the company to transition to electric vehicles. Over the next two years, they say they could add another 100 employees to the 750 who already work at the plant.

 

For the second consecutive season, the Buffalo Bills exited the postseason with a loss in the AFC Divisional round. The Cincinnati Bengals dominated Buffalo at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park yesterday, 27-to-10. The Bills were unable to score the entire second half. Josh Allen completed 25 of his 42 pass attempts for 265 yards and ran for a touchdown, but also threw one interception. Cincinnati heads to Kansas City next Sunday to face the Chiefs for a spot in Super Bowl 57 in Arizona next month. It’s also a rematch of last year’s AFC title game, which the Bengals won. Meanwhile, the match-ups are set for the NFC and AFC Championship Games. The San Francisco 49ers beat the Cowboys to advance to their third NFC title game in the last four seasons. The Niners will face the top-seeded Eagles in Philadelphia with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. The Bengals and Chiefs will square off in the AFC Championship Game for the second straight season after Cincinnati beat Buffalo in the Divisional round.

 

Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin returned to Highmark Stadium for the first time yesterday since his medical emergency at a game earlier this month. Hamlin was seen entering the team locker room on his own before kickoff, followed by his mom, his dad and his younger brother. The Bills took to Twitter to welcome Hamlin home after he suffered cardiac arrest during a game earlier this month. While his family said he has a long road ahead, doctors have called Hamlin’s recovery “fairly remarkable.”

 

 

 

The Sabres won their Saturday night game against the Anaheim Ducks 6 to 3. Victor Olofsson and Peyton Krebs scored twice each and Dylan Cozens and Jeff Skinner scored once each for the Sabres. This makes 2 in a row for Buffalo who now have a record of 23-19 and 3. They play again tonight in Dallas against the Stars, with face-off at 8:30.

 

 

Costs are up at the Postal Service this week. Yesterday, the cost of a first class forever stamp went up from 60-cents to 63-cents. Other price hikes include the cost of sending a domestic postcard from 44 cents to 48 cents and an international postcard went from $1.40 to $1.45.

 

 

 

Regal Cinemas is closing two locations in Western New York. The news comes after the nation’s second-largest theater chain announced last week that they would be shutting down nearly 40 locations across the country. The Buffalo area locations affected are the Regal on Transit Road in Williamsville and the location on Elmwood Avenue in North Buffalo. Regal had closed a dozen other theaters prior to filing for bankruptcy. Business Insider reports the company just can’t seem to rebound from the pandemic.
