Welcome to First and Fifteen — WBTA’s exclusive NFL talk show where football conversation goes deeper than the headlines. Hosted by Pete Zehler, Mike Rose, and Tylor Klien, the show blends sharp analysis, strong opinions, draft breakdowns, league news, and the kind of chemistry that only comes from years of talking ball together.
The roots of First and Fifteen go back nearly a decade to its original run at Genesee Community College, where the show quickly built a reputation far beyond the campus radio scene. During its time at GCC, the program was nominated for Best Collegiate Sports Talk Show in America by the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System, earning recognition alongside shows from powerhouse schools like UCLA, Ohio State, and Texas. After a long hiatus, the crew has reunited to bring the show back bigger than ever under the WBTA Sports Network banner.
Pete Zehler serves as the host and driving force behind the show. As Director of News & Sports at WBTA, Pete brings years of broadcasting experience, live play-by-play work, and an aggressive coverage style that keeps the conversation moving. Whether it’s breaking down quarterback situations, draft strategy, or front office decisions, Pete pushes the debate and keeps the energy high.
Mike Rose, Sports Editor at the Batavia Daily News, adds a journalist’s perspective to the program. Mike’s ability to analyze roster construction, league trends, and coaching decisions gives the show a grounded, informed edge. His mix of reporting knowledge and football passion helps balance the fast-paced debate with real insight. As a reporter on the Buffalo Bills beat, Mike always has the inside scoop on what’s happening in Orchard Park as well.
Tylor Klien, brings the passion and personality that gives First and Fifteen its edge. Whether he’s defending a controversial draft pick, calling out bad front office decisions, or delivering strong takes on the league’s biggest topics, Tylor adds energy, humor, and unpredictability to every episode. His fan-driven perspective and willingness to say what others won’t helps create the entertaining back-and-forth that defines the show.
Together, the trio creates a show built for both diehard NFL fans and casual listeners alike — mixing serious football analysis with personality, chemistry, humor, and debate. From NFL Draft coverage and offseason storylines to weekly reactions and bold predictions, First and Fifteen delivers football talk with energy, authenticity, and a local touch that made the original show special in the first place.
