Train Derails in Attica

A Norfolk and Southern freight train has dereailed near East Main Road in Attica late this afternoon.
Preliminary reports at the scene indicate that no hazzardous material was being hauiled by the train.
At least one person, believed to be a crew member of the train, has been taken to the hospital with a leg injury and head laceration.
Attica and Alexander Fire Departments were the first to respond to the scene around 4pm.
The derailment occurred in a wooded area.
