Bergman and VanSkiver Named Genesee Athletes of the Week
BATAVIA, NY… Goalkeeper Adrian Bergman from men’s soccer and Middle Blocker Kaitlyn VanSkiver from women’s volleyball were named Genesee Athletes of the Week for the week of September 9.
Adrian Bergman had a combined 11 saves in two games over the weekend on Long Island. The sophomore keeper from Horten, Norway shutout the Suffolk County Community Sharks 3-0 on Saturday and kept the Cougars in the contest against #3 nationally-ranked Nassau Community College.
Kaitlyn VanSkiver had four kills and helped the Cougars sweep Erie Community College in their season opener last week. The sophomore from Albion, NY is one of the team captains.
The volleyball program will travel to Jamestown Community College Tuesday night at 6pm. Men’s soccer will play at home on Wednesday afternoon at 5pm against Niagara County Community College.
