Genesee’s Anderson Heading to Rutgers

BATAVIA, NY… (June 4, 2019) Genesee men’s lacrosse player Mat Anderson has committed to continue his academic and lacrosse career at NCAA Division I Rutgers University. Anderson will make an impact for the Scarlet Knights when he arrives to Piscataway, NJ this upcoming fall semester.

The defensemen/long stick midfielder from Gorham, Maine was fourth on the team in ground balls with 40 and help led the Cougars to the program’s eighth Region III championship in 2019. Anderson started in all 25 games he appeared in wearing the blue and gold. Anderson has scored three career goals.
Anderson was named to the NJCAA Region III All-Region 1st team in 2019 and was named to the All-Region 2nd team in 2018.

The 2019 Genesee men’s lacrosse program finished the season with a record of 8-5, losing in overtime in the opening round of the NJCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championships.
