GCEDC Considers Tax Breaks for Two New Projects

The Genesee County Economic Development Center (GCEDC) will consider accepting applications for incentives for two project at the agency’s June 7th board meeting. The combined projects would create 20 new jobs and approximately $7.6 million in capital investment.

J. Rental is seeking sales, mortgage and property tax exemptions to build a new 60,000 sq. ft. facility on 19.5 acres in the Apple Trees Acres business park in Bergen. The $6.3 million project would create 15 new jobs.

Lancor Development Corp. will invest $1.3 million to build a 12,000 sq. ft. facility in the new LeRoy Food and Technology Park. The project would create 5 new jobs and retain 7 jobs. Lancor is seeking sales and property tax exemptions.

Since both projects are requesting incentives totaling more than $100,000, the GCEDC will be scheduling public hearings if the board accepts the applications.

The GCEDC Board meeting June 7th is at 4 p.m. in the Innovation Zone at 99 MedTech Drive in Batavia. The meeting is open to the public.
