The City of Batavia has a new manager.
He is Dr. Martin Moore, who is currently the city manager of Eunice, New Mexico.
Eunice is a city of 3 square miles and has a population of 2,500.
Dr. Moore was named city manager of the year by the New Mexico Municipal League in 2015.
He had applied for a city manager position on Cortez, NM earlier this year.
It is believed that Dr. Moore’s wife has relatives in Erie County, NY.
Dr. Moore has accepted a three-year contract with the City of Batavia calling for an annual salary starting at $110,000, increasing to $114,000 in the third and final year.
Fringe benefits include the use of a city car, health insurance consistent with other non-union city employees and relocation expense reimbursement up to $10,000.
The contract calls for Dr. Moore to begin his new job on October 15, 2018. A video “meet and greet” is expected to be scheduled with the next few days.
