Rochester resident arrested after crash in Bergen is jailed for contraband.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of 35 year old Ryan Northrup of Chamberlain Street in Rochester after he was accused of leaving the scene of a property damage accident on Clinton Street Road in Bergen.
Northrup is accused of trying to evade law enforcement as they were conducting a check point Sunday afternoon.
He allegedly attempted to pull into a driveway but instead struck a drainage culvert causing damage and then fled the scene.
Northrup was apprehended shortly after and was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation with a Mandatory Suspension, Operating without an Interlock device and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
After being sent to the County Jail in lieu of bail Northrup was allegedly caught with a quantity of a white substance in his wallet that later tested positive as fentanyl.
Northrup was additionally charged with Introduction of Dangerous Contraband into prison and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and was ordered to be held without bail.
He is expected back in both Bergen Town Court in April and City Court at a later date.

47 year old Keith White has been arrested and charged with Conspiracy, Criminal Solicitation and Introduction of Dangerous Contraband into Prison following investigation into an incident at the Genesee County Jail in January.
White was ultimately released with appearance tickets for April 4th in Batavia City Court.
Batavia Police have released their latest round of active warrants.
According to city police there are currently 5 suspects on the wanted list including 35 year old Martin Rodgers who is wanted for failing to register a change of address as a Sex Offender and both 46 year old Jeanine Turner and 45 year old Tera Williams who are both facing a charge of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.

Lawmen say not to make any attempt to apprehend these individuals but to contact the Batavia Police Department if anyone has information on their whereabouts.
The state budget is due in a few days, and Governor Cuomo is making another funding request before the deadline.
At a rally yesterday with direct care workers, his counsel Alphonso David announced the governor wouldn’t sign a budget deal that didn’t include pay raises for them.

The Louise M. Slaughter Rochester Station was dedicated to the late congresswoman yesterday.
Slaughter was instrumental in getting funds to upgrade the station and also making sure it was compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
She passed away last year.
