GCSO: Memorial Day Arrest in Pavilion

Deputies bust a young pair of alleged thieves found sleeping with stolen items in Pavilion.

Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to report of a disabled or abandoned vehicle on Peoria Road in Pavilion on Memorial Day.

Lawmen discovered 21 year old Stormy Watts of Stafford and 22 year old Daniel Lewis of North Chili sleeping in the back seat and upon further investigation officers located a firearm, drugs and numerous stolen items in their possession.

Both were charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and Unlawful Possession of Pot while Lewis was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and a felony count of Destroying Evidence.

Deputies say they are still looking for victims to claim all their items after seizing numerous vehicle electronics, hand bags and wallets. Please Contact Deputy Young at the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office if you have yet to report a theft from your vehicle that potentially occurred between March and Memorial Day in either Monroe, Livingston or Genesee County.

Watts and Lewis were remanded to jail in lieu of bail and are to appear tomorrow in Pavilion Town Court.
