Greece Police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting that left one person dead, and one other in grave condition. Police arrived to a home Mosely Road Wednesday night, just before 10 p.m. Upon arrival, police say they found the dead victim, with an apparent gunshot wound. In the same home, police found the second victim, and they were taken to Strong Hospital.
The driver of a minivan that struck a utility pole Wednesday afternoon on Law Street, causing a significant power surge in the area, has not been located. Sgt. Mitch Cowen said Thursday morning that police are pretty confident they know who the driver was, that he’s not from the area and that the vehicle was not stolen. Cowen said police are looking for him in order to question him about the accident. Witnesses saw a man running from the accident and provided a description to police. A K-9 was deployed shortly after the accident in an attempt to find his trail, but that effort failed to find the driver. The crash caused roughly 300 homes on Chestnut and South Jackson to lose power.
Rochester tried the fast ferry with less than stellar results. Now Buffalo wants to give hosting cruises a shot. Steve Ranalli, President of Erie Canal Harbor Development Group says he can imagine cruise ships lined up with 200 to 300 passengers each. Cruises from across the five great lakes are becoming more popular, breaking records in 2022 with nearly 150,000 passenger visits to Great Lakes ports like Cleveland, Milwaukee, Erie and Toronto, according to Cruise the Great Lakes. Buffalo would need to build a Cruise Terminal, a welcome center and expand the port to make space for cruise ships if it wanted a piece of the more than 125 million dollar a year market.
3 people were charged after the Batavia Emergency Response Team, working with the Genesee County Local Drug Task Force, raided a home at 126 State Street Tuesday night and found an illegal drug operation. 35 year old Andrew Taylor of Main St in Albion, 34 year old Kenneth Campbell of Oak St in Batavia and 29 year old Joanna Larnder of Summit St in Batavia were all charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. Campbell was hit with a weapons charge on top of that. Campbell was held without bail and the other 2 were released with appearance tickets for December 13th.
Snow removal operations are scheduled to resume in Buffalo today after being temporarily put on hold. Crews stopped cleaning up from the recent snowstorm Wednesday following the death of a city employee. The individual lost their life on the McKinley Parkway after they were struck by a high lift. The investigation into the tragedy is ongoing.

The Buffalo Bills are now on a two-game winning streak after picking up another victory on the road. Buffalo kicker Tyler Bass hit a 45-yard field goal with just seconds left as the Bills defeated the Detroit Lions 28 to 25 at Ford Field on Thanksgiving day. Quarterback Josh Allen threw two touchdown passes for the Bills who now have a record this season of eight wins and three losses. Up next for Buffalo is a road game against the New England Patriots on December 1st.
The Buffalo Sabres are back in action tonight vs the New Jersey Devils at 8 o clock at the Keybank Arena. The Sabres are 9 and 11 and the Devils are 16 and 4. Buffalo is coming of a win Wednesday night against the St Louis Blues where they debuted their red and black goathead jerseys.
