A Rochester teen Burger King employee is dead after a shooting on Lyell Ave Saturday around 7:40pm. The investigation found that the employee was shot inside the restaurant while he was leaving work for the evening. While the motive remains unknown, police say they believe the victim was the intended target of this attack. This marks the first homicide in the City of Rochester in 2023.

Jeffery Ball, the owner of Catch A Torri Farms, says it is due to the Bird Flu outbreak that the Centers for Disease Control reports have resulted in the deaths of nearly 50 million birds including chickens. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the price of a dozen eggs has jumped from $1.82 last year to now $3.60. At Walmart in Batavia a dozen store brand eggs runs 5.70 while at Tops they are 5.59.
A company wants to build a 100 acre distribution center just off i 90 in Pembroke. Horizon Acres Associations of Spring Valley is the lead applicant. Geis Companies, of Ohio, is the developer. Metzger Civil Engineering presented the application for a Site Plan Review to the Genesee County Planning Board. They want to build across from the Flying J off exit 48. The hope is that this 6 warehouse facility will employ over 400 people and bring big businesses that are looking for hubs with easy access to the I-90 corridor. The cost of the project is 142 million dollars.
Buffalo City Hall is getting a new look for a new playoff year. Mayor Byron Brown, unveiled newly designed Bills banners in Niagara Square Saturday afternoon. This year’s banners pay tribute to Damar Hamlin, Bills Mafia and your AFC East champion Buffalo Bills. It’s a new twist to a recent tradition at one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. A lot of people take advantage of this selfie station to take pictures And show their support for the Buffalo Bills on their favorite social media pages.
The Buffalo Bills will move on to the next game in the playoffs after beating the Dolphins 34 to 31 in a close fought game at Highmark Stadium. The Bills started off with 2 touchdowns but the Dolphins were able to claw their way back to the lead in the second half. Several fumbles and interceptions later and the Bills were back on top at the end. With the win the Bills will be hosting the AFC Divisional game next week.
The Buffalo Sabres broke their losing streak on Saturday night by beating the Nashville Predators 5 to 3. Jeff Skinner, Dylan Cozens, Victor Olofsson, Kyle Okposo and Jack Quinn all scored for Buffalo. They’ll be back at the KeyBank Center this afternoon for a showdown with the Florida Panthers. Puck drop is at 1:00 p.m.
