An overwhelming number of New Yorkers would prefer someone else as governor instead of Kathy Hochul according to a new poll. Hochul is reacting after seeing a Sienna College survey shows only 33% of registered voters would vote to reelect her as things stand now compared to 57% who say they would vote for someone else.   The poll shows 51% disapprove of Hochul’s adjusted congestion pricing plan for Manhattan that is set to take effect in January compared to 29% approving. Hochul has a negative job approval rating of 46 to 49%, an improvement for her from an October poll.

Lawyers for the Tops Market gunman say they may have to restart their review of FBI reports after prosecutors released new information. In October, the government shared over 57,000 pages that it had previously disclosed to the defense team over the course of two and a half years plus new material that wasn’t previously provided. The new pages of material have an entirely new set of reference number markings and the defense lawyers aren’t about to easily link them to the previously disclosed pages. Lawyers for Payton Gendron are asking a judge to order the government to give them the original reference numbers that correspond with the new reference numbers so they don’t have to manually search and compare 57,000 pages to find the new information. A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
